History

A group of coaches from the Back Porch Gang decided to get together and create a web site featuring information about the individual coaches and the organization in general.  The site was paid for by the individual coaches featured on it.  Over time we found the site to be more of an informational arm for our coaching group so, in 2001 the Back Porch Gang, now also know as the Northern Colorado Coaches Alliance, voted to have the web site be sponsored by the entire organization.

As the NCCA has grown, so has the use of its website as a means to communicate with the membership, and provide basic advertising for some member coaches and affiliated organizations.

Benefits of the Web Site

There are many benefits to the chapter and the individual members for being on the site.  It is listed with search engines and usually comes up high in searches for Colorado coaches.  The site is linked from the ICF site (as an area chapter), so both potential clients and new coaches can connect to us from that site.  Many new coaches use it to have a presence on the web.  Information about meetings and upcoming activities are posted there, benefiting current members and the community.  Good definitions of what coaching is and isn’t are on the site as background information for prospective clients.  Our mission and purpose as well as details about who we are and how we operate are on it. The site looks great and represents us well.

Membership

All NCCA members will be listed on the site under Who Are We and Members.  Member contact information is a phone number, e-mail address, and website address.  An NCCA member is someone who has paid their $25 activity fee to the NCCA (via the website or mailed to our treasurer) for the current year.  Our membership year goes from May through April, so you will be asked to renew your membership on May 1st.  If you are wishing to join with less than half a year remaining (November through April), then the initial activity will be pro-rated to 50%.

Coach Advertising

NCCA member coaches who want to be listed in the Find A Coach section with a photograph and a biography of up to 150 words. If you have products for sale, these can be listed on the Member Products page. The products are not purchased through the NCCA, but through the member's website. This is a fantastic bargain for a one time fee of $42.00.  To be on the web site you must be a current member of the NCCA.

The process is:

  1. Sign up for membership with the NCCA by giving your activity fee to our treasurer, or by paying here on the website.
  2. Give your one time check for $42.00 to our treasurer.
  3. Get a picture and up to 150 word biography or information you want listed to Carl Dierschow, our web master. Pictures need to be internet-ready JPEG or GIF files, 100 - 200 pixels in each dimension. Also let Carl know the coaching categories you want to be listed under on the Find-A-Coach page, and any pointers to products which you might have for sale.
  4. Get any web site changes or new information to Carl on a monthly basis.
  5. Entries will be listed under the coach's name.  If you wish to mention your company name it will be listed as a sub-heading under your name.
  6. From your advertising page you can link to your website, your e-mail address and phone number(s).
  7. In your own marketing materials you can state that you are a member of the NCCA and use the NCCA logo, as long as you maintain your NCCA membership.

Affiliate Advertising

An Affiliate is an organization which helps further the NCCA's Purpose and which is approved to have a marketing linkage (not a legal linkage) with the NCCA.  At least one person in the organization must be a current member of the NCCA, and the organization must abide by the ICF Ethical Standards.

The process is:

  1. Ensure that one of your organization's members has signed up for membership with the NCCA.
  2. Give a request to our president, which states your organization's goal for NCCA affiliation, how your organization clearly helps further NCCA's Purpose, and how your organization abides by the ICF Ethical Standards.  This will be voted on by the NCCA Leadership Circle, and only approved if an affiliation is clearly in NCCA's best interests.
  3. Give your one time check for $42.00 to our treasurer.
  4. Get an organization logo and up to 150 words of information you want listed to Carl Dierschow, our web master. Pictures need to be internet-ready JPEG or GIF files, 100 - 200 pixels in each dimension.
  5. Get any web site changes or new information to Carl on a monthly basis.
  6. Entries will be listed under the organization's name on the Affiliations page.
  7. From your advertising page you can link to your website, your e-mail address and phone number(s).
  8. In your own marketing materials you can state that you are an affiliate of the NCCA and use the NCCA logo.
  9. If your organization falls away from the affiliation requirements, affiliate status will be revoked and advertising removed from NCCA's website.  You will no longer be allowed to state affiliation with NCCA or use the NCCA logo.
