I hope you saw the new article right at the very top of the second
section in today's Coloradoan:NCCA aims to coach customersQuestion: What is the Northern Colorado Coaches Alliance?Answer: The NCCA is an organization of professional life and business coaches from Northern Colorado. We are a charter chapter of the International Coach Federation, a leading organization for professional coaches boasting more than 14,000 members in 80 countries. Our purpose is to create relationships that foster support, growth and evolvement in ourselves and others. We are committed to upholding a professional code of ethics, professional development of our members, advancement of the coaching profession and promotion of coaching in Northern Colorado. Q. How long has the organization been in Northern Colorado, and what areas do you serve?A: Originally created in 1998 as the Back Porch Gang, we achieved affiliation status as a chartered chapter of the International Coaching Federation (ICF) in July 2001. We serve the communities of Fort Collins, Greeley, Loveland, Cheyenne, Windsor, LaPorte and Wellington. Q: How do you coach clients?A: Each coaching relationship is unique, and coaching formats are customized to meet a client's needs. This may include coaching by telephone or in person depending on the need. Coaches use powerful combinations of questions and requests to achieve results. A coach gives you support and feedback, and helps you to evaluate your actions and your results. A coach won't be interested in the past. He or she will want to know who you are now and who you want to become. It is not a coach's job to tell you what to do. It is a coach's job to empower you to sort through your own beliefs and values and make your own decisions based on what is best for you. The coach listens carefully for the "heart" behind the words as the client shares dreams, goals or aspirations. Q: Since its inception in Northern Colorado, how has the program grown?A: Since 2001, the NCCA has been a charter chapter of the International Coaching Federation, which has given the NCCA a global connection. This has provided more exposure and new areas to serve. We are continually adding new and exciting programs that aid in the expansion and growth of ourselves as coaches and to serve those in the community. Some of which are:
Q: How do people benefit from the services of a coach and the NCCA?A: Benefits of hiring a professional coach include making it easier to be and do your best by:
The NCCA can help individuals and organizations find a coach that is suited to them and their needs. Additionally, we offer community presentations and workshops, as well as support and networking opportunities for other coaches in the community. Click here for the original. Fantastic job, Pam! |

Remember that the deadline is coming quickly to pay your dues for the new NCCA year, May 2008 through
April 2009. The cost is $25, and instructions are on the website at
http://www.nccoaches.org/Pay.htm. If you have any difficulty or
questions, please contact

names from the member list soon. If you've already paid -
thank you! If you mailed a check to our PO Box but didn't hear
back, please contact Carl
immediately, as we had a problem with mail being returned to
senders. If you have an advertisement on the NCCA's Find-A-Coach feature, your page will only be kept active as long as you continue to be a paid member of the NCCA. Once your membership lapses, your advertisement will be disabled. Please spend some time thinking not only about the value that you get from the NCCA, but also what you give to the group. The NCCA has value only because of your involvement and passion. We ask that each member do something during the year to help support our goals of deepening our professional development, promoting coaching to the community, or advancing the state of the profession. Please ask yourself:
