NCCA Meeting Notes
25 August 2005
Attending
- Susan G., Joan, Barbara Spencer-Herder, Carmen, Sue T. Jeff, Mandy, John
Check-In
- Joan will be one of two speakers at the Sept 28th Biz-Support.Biz meeting in the
Colulmbine room of the Lincoln Center. The title of her talk is "Secrets to
Success" She also told us about an extension to the Executive Group
of Biz-Support where the group meets twice with a coach and each individual
has a one-on-one meeting with a coach. See
http://www.whereyourbusinessthrives.com/Executive Team Meeting Agenda.pdf for
more information on the Executive Group meetings. Contact Joan King (joanking@beyond-success.com)
or Robert Evans (Robert@biz-support.biz) for more details.
- Barbara told us that she is a psychotherapist that is now a Life Coach. Her
focus is on women's personal and spiritual growth.
- Carmen is traveling to Gallup, NM to speak to 1500 Navajo women business
leaders.
- Sue is taking a message to everyone she knows to tell them why they should vote
for referendum C & D. If these do not pass, higher education in and education
in general in Colorado will suffer.
- Jeff got information put on the NCCA website about his coaching business and
focus.
- Mandy and John deferred their check-in since they were doing the
Focus-On-The-Coach part of the program
Announcements
- Barbara presented an idea that she developed with Joan and Carmen concerning a
coaching page in the new Northern Colorado Woman newspaper. A paid editorial
page would cost $5400/6 issues. This is a way coaches of the NCCA could further
coaching and their coaching businesses economically is the cost is shared among
many coaches.
- Joan pointed out that she has tickets for the Bixpo exhibit area. Contact Carl
for the information, she said.
- THE 2005-2006 NCCA ACTIVITY FEE IS DUE AUGUST 31ST - VISIT
THE WEBPAGE
ICF News
- August 31st is the deadline for early bird registration for the San Jose ICF
conference.
- The ICF is rolling out a new Membership Levels Program. See the ICF web page
for dates and times for the bridge line discussions of this new program.
- Coaches with a PCC or MCC expiring on Dec 31, 2005 will be a renewal application
and supporting material in early September.
Focus-On-The-Coach - Mandy Kotzman
- Mandy says she is challenged to know what group to target her marketing to. She
introduced three strands to her marketing effort.
- Strand 1 is a very creative idea she calls a Taste of Coaching. Her coaching
services are explained by way of a menu. She gave us a copy of the menu and if
you want a copy, contact Mandy.
- Strand 2 is a collaboration with her mother to update a book her mother wrote
that is now out of print. The title of the book is "Listen to me, Listen to
you".
- Strand 3 is a retirement coaching program that is a work in progress.
- There was much discussion and Mandy got several helpful ideas from the other
coaches.
Focus-On-The-Coach - John Spencer
- John explained an initiative he and three other coaches are working on to create
Tele-Coaching groups for ADD/ADHD adults. The pilot group coaching on August
24th went well. Enrolling people in the groups has been a problem, because it
is difficult to find advocates who will refer ADD'ers to the ADD coaches.
- John also explained how he is honoring his personal priorities while building
his coaching business. Because he has a full time job in engineering, he is
pacing his business development to make sure his family stays priority one. The
group coaching effort is great since the work is divided among four coaches and
this is manageable.
- The group suggested to John that the coaching group idea could be extended to
non-ADD adults. The idea is that everyone is a little ADD in these fast paced
times where information overload is the norm.
