We voted a couple of months ago to institute an NCCA annual fee of $25. That will run January through December. Martha will start collecting the annual fee at the potluck on Dec. 6. (Our bylaws still read that in order to belong to NCCA, you must belong to ICFso make sure your ICF membership is up-to-date. Any questions about this, talk to Irene at 484-2592.)
The Taste of Coaching circle will be putting out a press release soon about the late Jan. event. That press release can also include any activities that individual NCCA members are sponsoring. If you are planning an event for around International Coaches Week (first week in Feb.), get the info to Irene (irenestein@att.net) ASAP and she will coordinate with the ToC press release.

The recent ICF Annual Conference was a big success. A few of our members attended: Irene, Carl, Pat, Diane. Following are Carls impressions:
A new ICF mission statement was adopted by the ICF Board just prior to the conference:
ICF Mission Statement
Our mission is to be the global forum for the art and science of coaching where we inspire transformational conversations, advocate excellence, and expand awareness of the contribution that coaching is to the future of humankind.
The ICF sponsored a teleforum on November 19, 2002 to discuss the potential impact of rulings in Colorado (USA) regarding personal coaching and the definition of psychotherapy. The State of Colorado regulatory agency is recommending that all coaches who are not licensed therapists must register as unlicensed therapists. ICF's legal counsel, Mr. Bob Weil, presented legal opinions and clarifications of the law in Colorado. The outcome of the call is bringing together several Colorado coaches to pursue legislative action through an amendment to the Mental Health Board regarding definitions and to begin a proactive educational campaign with elected representatives. A recoding of the discussion is at audio podium number 405-244-4000 box 231.
Upcoming 2003 ICF Conferences:
ICF European Conference, May 7-10, Stresa, Lake Maggiore, Italy
ICF's Annual International Conference, November 13-15, Denver, CO USA
ICF VIRTUAL COMMUNITY, THE BIGGER GAME: Is there a "Bigger Game" ahead for your clients?
