Introductions

Holistic Arts Faire

• We had a booth at the Holistic Arts Faire two weeks ago. We didn’t have a lot of traffic to the booth, mediocre interest. Is this the right venue for us?
• Was our message at odds with the overall theme of the show?
• We didn’t advertise our booth location in advance.
• We only mentioned the sample coaching if people came up to talk with us.
• We should have a big graphic that shows how coaching relates to your life.
• The weather was hot to windy to rain.
• We had about six coaches there but it would have been nice to have more participation.
• We should have a "curb appeal committee"
• We should poll members for participation
• The cost was cheap ($85) so the visibility might have been worthwhile
• What about New West Fest?
• Thanks to Karen and Lucinda for their leadership of this!

Small Groups

• A group is being formed by Terry A, Victoria, Carmen: Community-Parent-Youth Coaching Circle
• They don’t yet have a plan for how the word will get out, and will be putting some structure to this. The next meeting is July 11th.
• ACTION: Terry A will give a blurb to Irene to put in the next newsletter
• It’s possible that the NCCA’s tax free status might be a help to achieving the Circle’s goals?

Upcoming Events

• ICF Conference is in Atlanta starting October 23rd - $675 (ICF Member price) if you sign up before September 4th (Attending so far: Irene, Carl, Victoria) - http://coachfederation.org/conference/namerica/index.htm
• CoachVille Intensive is coming to Denver on November 22-23 - $179 if you sign up before the end of August - http://www.coachville.com/conf/default.html
• CoachVille conference is in Toronto September 12th-14th - http://www.coachville.com/conf/default.html
• Pat Williams is doing a session on September 26th about the legal status of Coaching

ICF News

• Irene is our group’s liaison with the ICF – please contact her if you have questions or concerns regarding the ICF.
• July 1st ICF Virtual Community is having a call
• The ICF had a 24-hour Practice Building Marathon – the tapes will be coming out soon.
• The ICF has created a new certification called Associate Certified Coach (ACC) which has lower requirements – 60 hours of training plus 250 hours of coaching. They’ll be processing the applications until Sept. 15th .
• The ICF has 186 chapters and 5300 members.
